Flux Aeterna (from Hans + Liv)

by Solveig Sørbø, Audun Sandvik, José Martínez Pérez

This sacral track is played toward the end of the documentary film "Hans pluss Liv". Hans (93) doesn't believe in afterlife, but finds comfort in the prospect of his and his diseased wife Liv's ashes giving life to a flower. The title Flux Aeterna is inspired by the requiem movement Lux Aeterna (meaning eternal light), with an atheist circle of life focus on eternal flow.

1st voice

Quantum fluctuation out of nothing
With emerging properties

What’s the point?

Blind to dimensions we exist
Cocreating what seems real

It sounds like a bitter joke

Return to the null
Living in our hearts
Printed in the minds of the living

Everything comes to an end

Ephemeral and thus precious
Is life

2nd voice

Where do the souls go?
They somehow flow

May flow eternal
Take you on its ride
light and water
Are the same

Let’s grieve, find comfort
They scatter but don't disappear

Love, we are stars
We are stardust

In flow eternal

3rd voice

Body decay
dark matter
mirrors them
Will they return
To where our fathers lay?
They cease to breathe
They disentangle
Moreness released

Could information
Be stored

All we know is the
Circle of life
death breeds life
Their borrowed cells transform

We give them back to nature
(Dark energy chaos)
We’ll be waves
